Giving Trees @ 25 CPW
The GIVING TREES exhibit brings together images drawn from the world-renowned Magnum Photos archive, each one celebrating the tree and its essential place in our world’s landscape. In addition, the exhibit focuses on the necessity of acting now to “Re-Green the World.” The proceeds from the sale of these prints will be shared between the Magnum Foundation and the Green World Campaign, a non-profit organization that plants trees to restore the ecology and economy of some of the world’s poorest places.
Participating Magnum photographers include Bruce Davidson, Gilles Peress, Danny Lyon, Larry Towell, Jim Goldberg, Alec Soth, Steve McCurry, Martine Franck, Stuart Franklin, John Vink, Harry Gruyaert, Jonas Bendiksen, Mark Power, Peter Marlow, Jean Gaumy, Geuorgui Pinkhassov and Trent Parke.
The exhibition will be on view from December 3rd, 2010 through January 9th, 2011 at CPW Gallery (www.25cpw.org), located at 25 Central Park West.
