Massimo Vitali @ Bonni Benrubi Gallery
Arcadian Remains
Exhibition: December 8 – February 4, 2012
This exhibition will include new photographs from Spain, Greece, Turkey and Italy and will expand upon the artist’s established oeuvre of socio-landscapes. From his vantage point high above the scene, Vitali captures groups in vast public spaces and exposes human behavior at its most primitive and stripped down. We experience the quiet chaos of play and leisure, the realism of the photograph as a document and the surrealism of his extraordinary views. In this recent body of work the architecture of place comes to the forefront and dominates as subject. Vitali is not only contending with the disorder and surprise of humans but the natural world as well.
