ROHAN HUTCHINSON
Kanazawa Study
4 May – 2 June 2013
Coming from a city untouched by natural disaster and bloodshed, Hutchinson brings us to one of Japan’s core metropolis, Kanazawa. After researching the difference of design and material in the past 500-years of architectural practice within the region, he puts forward the cultural, economic and aesthetic differences this city has gone through from the times of the Edo period.
From the living and working conditions of the Royalty, Geisha, and merchants of today’s contemporary spaces, you’re bound to feel in limbo as you find yourself inbetween the past and the present.
