Working the Border @ Carlisle Photography Festival
Working the Border
8th to the 15th November
‘Working the Border’ explores the geophysical & cartographic line that separates Scotland from England, and it borrows its title from a project by ae phor, a selection of which is exhibited in the waiting room on platform 4, accompanied by the soundwork ‘Border Fiddle Music’. This work was recently completed in the run up to the historical moment of the referendum, as was Jo Metson Scott’s set of works in the installation ‘The Borderland’, which views the border from the English side, whilst ‘Schengland’ and ‘The Debateable Land’ by Alan Knox speculate on issues around regional sovereignty and European federalism.
