Working The Border @ Peter Potter Gallery
Working The Border
25 April – 4 July
The title of the exhibition is borrowed from the work by ae phor, a personal exploration of the cartographic borderline, which includes the association of personal objects with places of topographical significance. ‘Schengland’ by Alan Knox combines screen shots of Google’s massive global surveillance program in Street View placed on the Anglo-Scots border, whilst ‘The Debatable Land’ explores the core footpaths of the Borders as roads which may be continually re-read in a political climate where regional sovereignty comes increasingly into conflict with European federalism.
