Self & Others gathers nearly 20 years of portrait photographs by Smithson who is a prolific artist, curator, educator, and founder and editor of the acclaimed photography blog LENSCRATCH. The work focuses on themes such as the innocence of childhood, the pathos of aging, and the passage from adolescence to womanhood. The work reflects her love of Hollywood movies and stars, fashion, culture, humor, and storytelling.
