Tony Kirman: Color Interactions
February 8 – March 4, 2017
“Tony Kirman continues his exploration of photography as art. Inspired by Josef Albers’ 1963 book “Interaction Of Color”, the painterly concepts of tint, shade and tone are translated into the digital ones of hue, saturation and brightness. Kirman overlays blocks of color on monochrome images to create abstract collages which question our response to colors and their relationships. When does a pink become a purple, or a yellow become a brown? How do we feel when colors connect?”
