Markus Klinko @ Tres Hombres Art Gallery
The Summer of Love by Markus Klinko
June 29th – August 31st, 2019
“The exhibition will showcase a range of Klinko’s collections over the last two decades, including
photoshoots that later transformed into some of the 2000s most recognizable album covers
(including Bowie’s “Heathen”, Mariah Carey’s “The Emancipation of Mimi” and Beyoncé’s
breakthrough “Dangerously in Love”), as well as intimate portraits of stars that are now
permanently ingrained in our cultural psyche. Klinko’s photos of Billie Eilish, Kate Winslet, and
Britney Spears, as well as collaborator and muse, Koala, will also be on exhibit, encapsulating
the artist’s ability to transform his subjects into both larger than life figures, and intimate, familiar
faces. Klinko’s work also documents the immense cultural shifts that took place at the turn of the
21st century, reflected by the faces that dominated the cultural landscape.”
