WITHO WORMS: Polderland
May 15 – July 30 2021
“Polders are areas of land created by impressive feats of engineering where shallow waters are diked, ditched, dug, drained and then filled for purposes of cultivation, habitation, industry and recreation. Meticulous planning aims to maximize each function. These flat expanses were a familiar sight to Worms, who grew-up in the Netherlands where more than half of the country’s land mass has been developed in this fashion.”
