Inbal Abergil: The Presence of Absence
May 10 – June 22, 2024
Opening Reception: Friday, May 10 (6 – 9 pm
“The Colorado Photographic Arts Center presents The Presence of Absence, a long-term body of work that includes two photographic projects and a film by Inbal Abergil, opening May 10, 2024. Viewers can see select photographs from one of the two photographic projects, entitled N.O.K: Next of Kin, and a segment of the film, entitled Four Mothers. This work focuses on grief, trauma, healing, and human cost of conflict. As a veteran, a mother, an immigrant, and a daughter of North African parents, Abergil explores how the portrayal of grieving women from different cultures powerfully motivates changes in the way we remember.”
