Arthur Drooker: Thirty-Six Views of the Golden Gate Bridge
Jan 29, 2025 – March 1, 2025
Opening and talk Wednesday, Jan 29, 2025 from 6–8pm
“Thirty-Six Views of the Golden Gate Bridge is a series of photographs inspired by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, who, between 1830 and 1832, created Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, a series of woodblock prints that show the sacred mountain from various locations, in different seasons, and in all kinds of weather. Nearly two hundred years later, photographer and author Arthur Drooker endeavored to do the same with San Francisco’s defining landmark.”
