Matthew Albanese, Jude Broughan, KangHee Kim and Jeffrey Milstein: MANUFACTURED LANDSCAPES
until April 5, 2025
““Stardust Hotel, Las Vegas,” is from a new body of work by Jeffrey Milstein. The “Noblex Panoramas.” In the 1990’s Jeffrey Milstein traveled in the US and Europe with a unique rotating-lens medium-format film camera called a Noblex. It captures a 146 degree wide image on film which is curved around a cylinder inside the camera. When the image is printed on aluminum and then curved it presents an anamorphic image much like Cinerama movies from the 1950’s, recreating the three dimensional space that the camera recorded. This new series includes grand public spaces such as the Vatican courtyard, St. Marks in Venice, American leisure scenes from Las Vegas and the New Jersey shore, mid-century modern homes in Palm Springs, and English National Trust gardens including Stourhead, Hidcote, Packwood, Stowe, and Westbury. ”
