I make photographs because I am restless, a trait that I am reasonably certain was inherited from my father. It is encouraged by the hope that constant movement might make it possible to be in two places at the same time. First, these photographs exist privately. I am a father interested in recording my family history in the belief that some It was with these two roles in mind that I began the every day picture project. On the day our third son was born I started to add one photograph per day to a loosely organized chronicle of life in and around our small South Minneapolis home. A lyrical description of our family life is beginning to emerge and it is as fragmented, uncertain, and restless as the real thing.
