How would two photographers 3,000 miles apart begin a collaboration with one another? Each having their own distinct differences in photographic genres, Stephanie a portrait photographer and Leslie an aerial/macro photographer. In our dialogue, we discovered intersecting similarities, differences and interests. Those intersections became the impetus for their conversation with one another, each responding through their unique photographic vision. It was through this visual dialogue that we began to have a glimpse into each other’s cultural and personal worlds.

Leslie Gleim is a Honolulu-based fine art photographer who uses perspective, aerial and macro, in creating her own distinct visual narratives. The focus for her on-going bodies of work is to gain an understanding of the complex relationships and tension that exists between the natural, climatic, and human impact on the Hawaiian ʻāina. Leslie’s work has been widely exhibited and published locally, nationally, and internationally.

Stephanie Alvarez, an Arizona based photographer and writer, founded Stephanie Estrella Creative Works in 2021 to pursue her passions and help others practice mindfulness as they live in the moment, putting down their devices, and getting back into the (picture) frame. In addition to brand photography, Stephanie deeply enjoys documenting the love, life, and natural beauty around her.
