Omey Island is situated one mile off the west coast of Ireland. During the mid-1800's the population stood at 400 residents, today there is only 1, former stuntman Pascal Whelan. I first encountered Pascal hitchhiking from Clifden back to the nearby town of Claddaghduff and offered him a lift. During the brief journey we shared stories and struck up a friendship. We agreed to meet again the following day to discuss a project focussing on Pascal's life. During his heyday Pascal travelled the world as a stuntman appearing in high profile movies and live shows however on one fateful day a member of his stuntman tragically lost his life performing a difficult stunt. This finished Pascal's career, he returned back to Omey Island to his childhood home where he lives today, alone.
