My work deals with themes relating to memory, identity and intimacy. My background as a painter influences the creation of these photographs – all my images begin as drawings where I play with composition and lighting, and experiment with colour and props to create the mood I am looking for.
My aim is to create a sort of domestic dream-space in which to explore social and psychological experiences, both real and imagined. The use of a constructed reality gives me a stage on which to play with ideas and explore my interest in storytelling, to create a mood and an open-ended narrative which the viewer can interpret in their own way.
