A dog on the lookout, a portrait of the Christ, a dusty Egyptian bust, an Earth globe with gaudy colors ... These treasures protected by their transparent shields are perfect models, which beside their aesthetics, invite to read through an intimate story. What is the story of this Elvis fan couple, this Red Devils team supporter, or the anonymous showing his stuffed fox? For several weeks, I walked the streets and avenues, discovering the hidden colors of Belgium. I felt as if I lived in a cold, grey land, and suddenly discovered, thanks to this project, a multiple, unexpected and surreal country.
My name is Jean-Luc Feixa. I come from a small town in the south of France, 7 years ago I moved to Belgium to become a press officer. I have been practicing photography for about fifteen years. As a daily spectator, I like to let my gaze at the mercy of "mundane scenes" until identifying the anecdote that will transform the pallor of the anodyne into a beautiful picture. I am particularly absorbed by the nuances between architectural lines and human figures that I affords to capture during his wanderings. Beside my job, I work on my personal photo projects mainly in analog, black and white, with my faithful Leica. I am a member of the artists collective Salamandre and my work has been showcased in several galleries and festivals in France, Belgium but also Emirates.
